Obedience training group classes
What is Levels Training?
Bauser’s Pet Training offers the most flexible group training classes available known as “Levels Training.” Levels obedience training is a group program offering unlimited training sessions during the period you are enrolled.
With a levels monthly subscription, you can come to our drop-in classes as often as you like for as long as you’d like. Get as much or as little training as you want or need based on your own expectations for your dog.
Some of our students come as often as three times a week! Check our schedule to see when each level is offered. Move through all five levels or choose to stay at a lower level. The choice is yours!
LEVEL 1: STARTING OUT.
Level 1 will introduce the clicker/marker, basic commands sit, down, watch me, name game, and release command. We’ll also work on problem behaviors such as jumping, sit for greeting, play-biting and potty training. All dogs (even those with prior training) start in level 1.
LEVEL 2: MANNERS TRAINING.
We’ll work on walking politely on a loose leash without pulling, paying attention to the owner while walking. We’ll also begin working on come and wait at the door. Level 2 includes problem- solving information for behaviors such as barking, digging, chewing, etc…Which also prepares your dog to be handled and physically cared for.
LEVEL 3: ADDING DISTRACTIONS.
We’ll work on a long-distance come command, stay, heel past distractions, and distance commands.
LEVEL 4: ADVANCED TRAINING.
We’ll work on polishing the come command and teaching an emergency come, strengthen the stay command by teaching the dog to stay for longer periods of time at a greater distance from the owner, work on turns and automatic sit in heeling. Leave-it and drop-it will be taught as well.
LEVEL 5: CANINE GOOD CITIZEN (CGC) TRAINING.
The AKC CGC Program provides an excellent foundation for training in many training activities and results in a well-mannered dog who is a joy to live with. Some therapy dog groups require passing the CGC Test as a prerequisite, some insurance companies recommend CGC training, and an increasing number of apartments and condos are requiring CGC training for resident dogs.
Other Group training classes
Specialty dog training class is a course for all ages and at all levels, teaching them to improve on skills they have already been taught. We all know how important it is for dogs to walk on a leash properly as well as teaching a very strong recall (come when called). These skills are critical to your dogs safety and continued education.
Teaching your dog tricks is not only fun, it stimulates your dog’s mind, and is a way to continue growing the bond between you and your pet.
You will train your dog how to roll-over, wave, shake his paw, play dead, put toys away, and much more.
Rally-Obedience is an active way to have more fun with your dog and is taught outdoors. You and your dog navigate a course, side-by-side, as you steer him/her through a course of 10-20 different signs.
Each of these signs provides instructions regarding the next skill that is to be performed.
Jumping hurdles, weaving through poles, going through tunnels, etc… are active ways to have more fun with your dog and is taught outdoors. This dog training course is a physically active course for those of you who are outdoor lovers. We will teach you the foundations of competition agility. (Not a Competition level course.)
